Our founder and designer Mary Beth Larkin, set out to create the perfect day dress that was somewhat tailored but still comfortable and effortlessly chic, and we think she did just that. A Tailored Fit
The Wingspan Dress features a tailored fit at the chest, complete with the most flattering princess seams and rouching. These princess seams are designed to closely follow a women’s shape and creates a long slimming look in A-line style dress such as this one. No pinpointed waistline is needed with princess seams because they follow natural curves and allow the wearer’s waistline to show through. The seaming detail continues down the front of the dress to the hem to give the perfect cascading fit. The best part of this dress? Functional side seam pockets big enough to fit your phone and wallet.
Luxurious Fabric
We talked last week about how we only buy already created fabrics, and we were lucky to get our hands on this one. The Wingspan Dress is made from a blend of 75% Modal and 25% Polyester. Modal is a semi-synthetic fabric made from beech tree pulp and is used for clothing and household items. It is a form of rayon, a commonly used fabric, but it is slightly more durable and flexible. Modal is typically considered a luxurious fabric due to the soft hand and higher cost and is an eco-friendlier alternative to cotton. This fabric is stretchy and soft, giving it that comfort aspect we strive for in our garments. It drapes well, doesn’t pill, and is extremely durable; all the features you look for in an everyday dress.
Day to Night
One of our favorite features of the Wingspan Dress is the ability to take it from day to night and throughout all the seasons. You can wear this dress with flats or boots for a year-round look, and add layer, such as our beauty bomber or your favorite denim jacket for a night out. During the summer, the breathable and water-absorbent Modal fabric blend is perfect for hot and sunny days and the racerback style gives you a sporty and comfortable look. For the winter season or chilly nights, you can dress up this black A-line with a layering piece, your favorite heels, and beautiful jewelry. A sexy scoop neck allows for lots of space to accessorize and the sleeveless style gives you the opportunity to add both thick and thin layers.
Machine Washable
At the end of a long day, the last thing we want to do is follow a long list of washing instructions. The Wingspan Dress is machine washable, as is our entire collection, and comes with easy-to-follow instructions you probably already follow. Wash this dress on a delicate gentle cycle and dry on low. Although not necessary, we like to keep our like colors and fabrics together.
