The Pop-Up experience is wildly different than your online shopping experience, and even more personal than a traditional brick-and-mortar shopping experience. With a pop-up shop, the owners and designers of each company are typically working their own booths and you get to meet and learn about their brand directly from the source. The Locals’ Collective is no different, and the creators are dedicated to making your experience a truly Santa Barbara styled one. A lot of time and effort was put into creating the space and setting up each and every creator’s section. This is the perfect pop-up experience for those wanting to support local business owners and designers, but don’t quite know how to find them. Located at 931 State Street in downtown Santa Barbara, locals and tourists alike stop in to escape the heat and end up walking out with at least one thing they couldn’t walk away from.
The Locals’ Collective was created by Fernado and Andres Vega of Lacalle Studio, Anna Janelle Cardenas of Anna Janelle Jewelry, and (IN)LARKIN’s very own founder and designer, Mary Beth Larkin. It’s a marketplace for items that will truly take your breath away. Each of our 20+ sellers are local to Santa Barbara and would otherwise never be able to have a storefront location on the infamous State Street. The mission is to inspire their customers with unique experiences and empower their local sellers with additional exposure and sales. This group of small businesses is dedicated to curating a positive retail experience for Santa Barbara locals through a large assortment of goods. From fashion and jewelry to outdoor products, and even something for the dogs, everyone who stops in can find something they’re interested in.
One of the best things about a group of local creators is the ability to collaborate on projects. (IN)LARKIN has had the opportunity to team up with digital fine artist Masha Keating, an artist involved in the Locals’ Collective, to produce a one-of-a-kind offering. We've launched a butterfly graphic tee exclusively for purchase at the Locals’ Collective. This tee celebrates the collaboration of creators, with a butterfly design by Masha Keating to represent (IN)LARKIN’s Aliferous Collection.
Locals’ Collective customers will also have first access to any and all items that are replenished and launched by (IN)LARKIN, such as our bags and hats that have now been uploaded to the website. These accessories were available at the Locals’ Collective for weeks before they were opened up to our e-commerce customers. In addition, this week, we received our new order of our best-selling MOBO Beauty Bomber, which our customers have been consistently requesting. This Bomber Jacket has been a best seller for two seasons now and the current version is an update of the original that was so sought after. You can wear this Beauty Bomber through the end of summer and well into fall. We love this versatile layering piece and so do our customers. We already have many sizes and colors claimed, so reach out to us through email, socials, or (IN)PERSON at the Collective to claim yours soon.
The Locals’ Collective is open until September 11th, so you still have time to head to 931 State Street and participate in the full pop-up experience. Come shop with the 20+ local creators who have created this experience to connect with other Santa Barbara locals. When you stop by, ask our founder and designer, Mary Beth Larkin, for a personal styling experience and get the chance to try on her clothes; something only available at the pop-up, and a huge benefit of the pop-up experience. We hope to see you walking down State Street and shopping with us (IN)PERSON soon.
