As a small, primarily online business, we don’t always have the opportunity to talk directly with our customers and answer any questions they may have about (IN)LARKIN or our collections. Often, however, we get questions on our social; through Instagram, Facebook, and even sometimes in emails to our designer. We know not everyone can pay attention to the comments on our social each day, so we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions and the answers from us at (IN)LARKIN.
Why did you create (IN)LARKIN?
(IN)LARKIN was created from the concept that women crave comfort but still want to feel beautiful. While we still love style, we aren’t willing to suffer in a dress that won’t let us sit or pants that dig in all the wrong places. From this idea, Mary Beth Larkin created athglamour®, the weaving of high fashion and athleisure we like to describe as casual glamour. We wanted to create something that women were confident and comfortable in, and our collections have done just that so far. These are clothes you aren’t going to rush to take off as soon as you get home; they’re clothes you can truly live in.
Where do you source your clothes from?
Unlike many small brands out there, our collections are actually designed by our founder, Mary Beth Larkin. She creates the theme, does the sketching, then searches for the most comfortable gorgeous stock fabric. Sometimes, we are even lucky enough to get leftover fabric from Tom Ford. After making the prototypes and perfecting the fit and design, we are then set to begin production on the collection. This is why it’s not always easy to order more of our sold-out items. We analyze every garment to ensure the design is to our satisfaction before including it in a collection.
Are you going to be creating more collections?
The easy answer is yes, (IN)LARKIN will be releasing new specialty items soon. Since we do everything from designing, prototyping, managing production, shipping, and sales, it is a detailed and time-intensive process with many back and forth communications. However, we do have the new collection which is currently en route. Unfortunately, we are still dealing with issues due to Covid with shipping. But we can tell you if you love our current collection, we suggest signing up for our email list and following us on social for the most recently updated information. So make sure you keep a close eye on our social…we will be releasing more details soon!
Will you ever have the (UN)REAL Jean in another color?
YES! The (UN)REAL Jean is coming in a new shade, and it is the richest, most divine indigo shade. So you asked, and we are delivering! We are happy you love these jeans as much as we do! So plan on getting your pair just in time for the Holiday season!
What makes (IN)LARKIN different from the sea of fashion brands out there?
We are the first to fuse form to function to fashion with our athglamour® concept. Our mission is to create timeless, seasonless, versatile pieces that have no expiration date. And literally, each collection builds off the prior collections. In other words, the aliferous collection will layer beautifully with our new styles coming soon. This way, you are building on your existing wardrobe and investing in styles that will everlast.
Do you have a store front?
While a storefront would be fantastic, we do not have our own just yet. However, you can visit us at 931 State Street in Santa Barbara through the end of the year at the Locals' Collective! Here you can see our designs in person, try them on for a perfect fit, and get styled by our in house stylist. You even have the option of making a private appointment with our founder and designer, Mary Beth!
