From Dance to Design
How does the art of dance inspire your designs?
MB: It’s not so much about dance in the traditional sense—it’s about movement. While I absolutely love watching professional dancers and find joy in seeing fabrics flow with their choreography, what really inspires me is the idea of everyday movement. I think of women dancing through life—whether it’s dancing through the grocery store, down the street, to work, to dinner… life is a rhythm, and our clothes should move effortlessly with us. That’s the heartbeat of athglamour®.

Fluid Fabrics
How do you choose which fabrics to use in athglamour® designs?
MB: I’m incredibly tactile—fabric has to feel good first and foremost. I gravitate toward soft, silky, cozy textiles that feel luxurious against the skin. I always begin with touch. Once something passes that test, I order sample yardage and test it in different silhouettes, because not every fabric works for every design. It’s about finding that perfect marriage between form, function, and feel.

Lightweight Layers
What is the secret to layering? What are some of your favorite pieces to layer together?
MB: I’m the layering queen! I’m almost always cold—except now, going through the change of life, I run hot and cold. So even in summer, I layer. Beyond practicality, layering adds attitude! A jacket over a tank or dress instantly elevates a look. The real secret to layering is understanding proportion and what works best with your body type. How do the free-flowing silhouettes of your designs relate back to dance?
MB: Many of our styles are rooted in the concept of movement as beauty.
